- Action RPG players who enjoy boss battles and defensive timing

Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking relaxed combat may find the demanding battles unsuitable.
- Players wanting a broad selection of regions may find six main levels restrictive.
- Players who prefer stealth or conversation-focused gameplay may find the combat emphasis too narrow.
Our take on Crimson Oath
The combat-centered design gives up some breadth in favor of repeated fights, counters, and boss encounters. Six main levels create a concentrated campaign rather than a wider world with many different types of activities.
What is Crimson Oath?
Crimson Oath is a souls-like action RPG set on Guretvo, a millennium-old continent shaped by corrupt rule, religious rebellion, divine intervention, and factional conflict.
Players follow a warrior who learns to fight, develops new abilities, and investigates the forces changing the world. The game contains six main levels, including the city of Lonserv; the other levels are massive and follow traditional souls-like designs. Combat features basic combos, dangerous strikes, deadly attacks, dodges, parries, firearm counters, and execution moves. Enemies use varied attack patterns and layered counter systems. The campaign includes 12 boss battles and more than 80 different AI combat encounters. Items, skills, and martial arts provide additional options during boss fights.
How Crimson Oath plays
- 01Layered Defense
- Combat includes dodging, parrying, firearm counters, and execution moves alongside regular attacks.
- 02Faction Conflict
- Church factions compete for leadership of Guretvo through conspiracies, grudges, and ideological struggles.
- 03Boss Battle Tools
- Items, skills, and martial arts offer different ways to confront the game's major enemies.
- 04Six Main Levels
- The game includes Lonserv and five other levels described as massive, traditional souls-like areas.
Crimson Oath compared to similar games
Crimson Oath focuses on souls-like combat, defensive timing, boss battles, and faction conflict. Ghost of a Tale is also an action RPG, but it emphasizes exploration, stealth, disguises, and conversations in a medieval world populated by animals. The two games therefore differ between combat-led progression and stealth- and exploration-led play.
