SimulationIs Crash Dive 2 worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Submarine combat fans who want to switch between stealth and direct attacks
- Players who enjoy managing crew and damage systems, with the option to delegate those tasks
- WWII naval warfare fans looking for a campaign built around South Pacific patrols
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a straightforward action game may hit a wall when crew health and location-based submarine damage affect performance.
- Players who prefer a fixed sequence of missions may find the campaign's patrol structure and random mission generation a poor fit.
- Players looking for multiplayer modes may not find the solo submarine command experience they want.
Our take on Crash Dive 2
The likely sticking point is submarine management: crew health and damage by location affect how the vessel performs, and optional damage control adds another system to handle. Players who do not want to manage these details can delegate crew tasks and damage control to AI.
What is Crash Dive 2?
Take a Gato-class submarine through the South Pacific to hunt enemy shipping.
Missions include stalking convoys, torpedoing transports, fighting destroyers with the deck gun, and operating anti-aircraft guns against incoming planes. Players can choose stealth or direct attacks, then evade escorts and their depth charges. A day-and-night cycle and changing weather affect visibility and weapons, while crew health and damage by location influence submarine performance. Crew management, damage control, and the submarine upgrade tree can be handled manually or left to AI. The campaign covers 10 patrols across the war, alongside randomly generated missions and maps, plus real-world locations such as the Solomon Islands, the Philippines, and the Sea of Japan.
