Our take on COWBOY YAKUZA
The store presentation gives substantial space to character histories, clan relationships, and the game’s irreverent tone. It offers less detail about the structure of the fighting and how the story is divided into playable sections.
What is COWBOY YAKUZA?
Set in 1980s Osaka, Cowboy Yakuza follows Cleveland “Cleve” Waingro, an American expatriate who loses his job as an English conversation teacher and gets involved with the local Yakuza.
The third-person action game combines a story about gangster intrigue with fights against multiple opponents. After seeing Cleve’s strength and fighting ability, the Yakuza recruit him. His friend Vince provides drugs of uncertain origin that are connected to Cleve’s extraordinary feats. The story unfolds during a conflict between the Sawada Clan, which has long controlled Osaka, and the Tange Clan, which is trying to move into the city. Ami Suda and Shinji Matoba are also involved in the surrounding criminal affairs.
