Our take on Count Pumpcula
Rather than centering on Dracula's familiar castle, the premise sends him across an archipelago after an orange object leaves a pumpkin stuck to his head. The pumpkin's protection from sunlight becomes part of the reason he can travel through the island setting.
What is Count Pumpcula?
After a nighttime encounter with an orange object descending from above, Dracula wakes on an unfamiliar island with a pumpkin attached to his head.
It shields him from sunlight as he tries to leave and return to his castle. This 2D Metroidvania spans seven main locations in the Eastern Archipelago of Lanthir Range. Players jump, dash and fight while exploring cursed woods, ancient caves and frozen catacombs for hidden areas. Along the way, Dracula can aid the Sagelings, meet companions and barter at a pub for abilities that grant access to new routes. Platforming uses coyote time and controlled jump height, and certain attacks stun foes. The scenery and animations are hand-drawn, with parallax effects adding depth to the environments.
