Our take on Cosmos
The focus on repeated rift runs and changing ship builds comes at the expense of a fixed, linear adventure. Procedural maps and collection systems support replayable combat, but the experience is centered on combat encounters rather than a consistently staged journey.
What is Cosmos?
Pilot an augmented starship into seven Cosmic Rift maps with procedurally arranged space debris and hostile reincarnated ships.
Each run involves fighting through a rift to reach its centre and seal it, with 25 unique bosses across five difficulty tiers. More than 30 starships can be collected using in-game currency. Leveling up, completing challenges, and visiting the Black Market provide augments, which can be swapped before entering a rift. Over 100 artifacts, curses, and boons also modify the ship. A collection log records statistics and rewards, while a compendium tracks enemies fought, killed, and collected. Missions and challenges provide additional objectives for co-pilots, and an in-game rating system includes rating emotes.

Abyssus also pairs shooting with roguelite progression, but its description emphasizes multiplayer, hand-crafted levels, and weapons refitted with ancient technologies. Cosmos centers on starship piloting through procedural rifts, collecting ships, and modifying builds with augments and artifacts.
