Our take on Contagion VR: Outbreak
Rather than centering on one persistent survivor, the campaign shifts the player between characters across its missions. It also replaces a strictly linear structure with Free Roam and a separate firing practice mode, giving the zombie shooter multiple ways to engage with its arsenal.
What is Contagion VR: Outbreak?
Contagion VR: Outbreak is a first-person zombie shooter made exclusively for virtual reality.
Its single-player campaign contains 4 multi-part missions, with each mission placing the player in the role of a different character and following that character’s story. Physical VR actions form part of the gameplay. Missions include varied zombie types, firearms, melee weapons, grenades, and chainsaws. Free Roam allows indefinite play while collecting resources and fighting zombies. Firing Range provides access to the weapons in one location, with unlimited ammunition and score-based target practice. The game was developed for HTC Vive, Valve Index, Oculus, and Windows MR. It is also available for arcades on SpringboardVR.
