Is Construct PRO worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy constructing machines from mechanical parts and testing their physical behavior
- Puzzle fans who want a finish-line challenge based on overcoming obstacles
- Sandbox players interested in sharing or reloading models through text files and Steam Workshop
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a conventional racing game may bounce off the focus on construction puzzles instead of driving around large areas.
- Players expecting a broad progression system may hit a wall when all 29 parts are available from the beginning.
- Players seeking a polished finished release may not fit the Early Access state, which includes bugs.
- Players wanting a conventional story campaign may find the test prototype's single stated goal too limited.
Our take on Construct PRO
The bounce point arrives when construction gives way to testing: players expecting a racing loop instead encounter obstacle solving, gravity experiments, and model destruction. The lack of gradual part unlocks can also remove a progression hook from the opening minute.
What is Construct PRO?
Construct PRO is a physics sandbox for assembling structures from metal parts, bolts, and nuts.
The game currently provides 29 parts, all available from the start, with bolt settings that can be changed during construction or while gravity is active. Structures can be saved as simple text files, uploaded again, and shared through Steam Workshop. Gravity tests the assembled model, while an electric motor rotates an attached part. A Boltogun can destroy any model. An Early Access test prototype adds a puzzle objective: build a machine that overcomes obstacles and reaches the finish line. The game focuses on solving construction puzzles rather than racing across large areas.
How Construct PRO plays
- 0129 Starting Parts
- Every available part can be used from the first minute rather than being unlocked gradually.
- 02Physics Testing
- Gravity can be switched on to examine how an assembled structure behaves.
- 03Adjustable Bolts
- Bolt tightness can be changed both during construction and while gravity is active.
- 04Workshop Sharing
- Models can be uploaded through Steam Workshop or saved as simple text files for later loading.
- 05Motorized Parts
- An electric motor rotates the part attached to it.
- 06Obstacle Prototype
- The Early Access test prototype asks players to build a model that reaches the finish line after overcoming obstacles.
Construct PRO compared to similar games
Construct PRO centers on assembling metal structures, adjusting bolts, applying gravity, and testing machines against obstacles. SpaceChem focuses on building factories that transform raw materials into chemical products, while Fun with Ragdolls: The Game focuses on creating worlds with environmental objects for ragdolls to flop, fall, or crash through.
