The open-ended structure trades a guided progression for freedom to choose activities and roles. That leaves players who want a clear sequence of objectives with less direction, while home customization and town choices form the central loop.
What is Commercium?
Starting with a loan and no money, players choose how to live in town.
They can build a house, furnish and decorate it, change materials on furniture and other objects, and customize much of the home. Activities include riding horses, practicing aim on target dummies, and buying weapons. Players can pursue roles such as mayor, police officer, or doctor, grow crops, or steal from houses. Building is not limited to town: a home can also be placed in the wilderness. The game can be played alone or with friends, with choices centered on creating a home and selecting a way to take part in the town.
