Play it if you…
Good fit- Mining-game fans who want to explore a generated underground world
- Players who enjoy collecting resources and selling them at a base
- Players who like customizing builds with instruments, trinkets, and consumables
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking exploration without hazardous survival conditions may dislike the constant radiation, darkness, and oxygen concerns.
- Players looking for a purely open-ended mining sandbox may find the story, dialogue, quests, and hidden structures too structured.
- Players who prefer short, self-contained stages may not want a progression built around descending through 10 underground biomes.
Our take on Colony 37
Its defining structure is a descent through a generated, block-based colony where destroyed blocks grant experience even when gathered resources do not return to base.
What is Colony 37?
Colony 37 is a mining game focused on exploration, collecting loot, and simplified survival mechanics.
Dig through a procedurally generated, block-based world that reaches more than 600 meters underground, with 10 biomes containing distinct threats, resources, and chest items. Radiation, darkness, and lack of oxygen create hazards during each descent. Exploration includes dialogue, small quests, rewards, and hidden structures that advance the story. Resources can be sold at the base, while destroyed blocks provide experience even when a trip ends without recovered materials. Character builds use three instruments and 10 miscellaneous items. The game includes more than 40 instruments, over 200 trinkets, and more than 20 consumables for health, oxygen, and energy emergencies.
