Our take on Code Zodiac
The story and world-building receive prominent billing, but the playable structure is limited to 10 boss encounters, alongside conversations with locals and character-focused story material.
What is Code Zodiac?
Code Zodiac is a story-focused action game built around 10 robot boss encounters.
Players control Leo, a young engineer investigating failures in the Zodiac System while confronting The Stranger's plans. Combat combines close-range strikes with long-range attacks: melee hits restore ammunition for subsequent volleys, while dodging, movement, and animation canceling support fights based on reading enemy behavior. Outside battles, Leo speaks with locals and meets a varied cast across the planet Verge. The game presents its world through pixel art inspired by 16-bit games, hand-drawn character portraits, and an original soundtrack containing more than a dozen tracks.
