Our take on CLOWN
Instead of centering horror on combat, CLOWN makes sound management part of maze navigation: movement and flashlight use can expose the player, while card audio points toward objectives. Its level goal is a fixed set of 8 cards rather than open-ended exploration.
What is CLOWN?
CLOWN is a first-person horror game set in a series of mazes.
Each level contains 8 playing cards that must be found to banish the pursuing clown and complete the level. The cards emit a humming sound, which can guide the search. Movement also creates noise: running, jumping, and clicking a flashlight can reveal the player's location. Players can jump, climb, sprint, and use a flashlight to explore dark areas, while keeping track of visited routes to avoid getting lost. The clown may duplicate itself while searching, and can stop chasing after pursuing the player. The main loop combines maze navigation, card collection, sound awareness, and evasion.
