Our take on Clockwork
The bounce point arrives when time manipulation becomes necessary for solving puzzles. Players who want straightforward platforming may stall at these tricky challenges, while combat-focused players may lose momentum during the story and exploration sections between boss battles.
What is Clockwork?
Clockwork follows Atto, a mechanical boy, and Milli, a pocket watch that knows about time, through Watchtower, a city divided into districts with distinct hand-drawn steampunk settings.
Players explore areas such as Poisonville and Crystal Heights while investigating the city’s mysterious past and the origins of its characters. Time manipulation is central to the puzzle-platforming, with more than 60 levels containing challenging puzzles. The game also includes action-heavy boss battles and a story about unlikely friends trying to repair an imperfect world. Atto and Milli each have connections to Watchtower’s history, including the transformation of human survivors into mechanical bodies after a plague.
