Our take on Chrono
Its defining mechanic is the ChronoGun, which changes how individual objects move through time: hazards can be stopped, fallen items reversed, and mechanisms accelerated to alter how each puzzle functions.
What is Chrono?
Chrono is a first-person, single-player puzzle-platformer set in a futuristic laboratory.
After obtaining the ChronoGun, players alter the temporal behavior of objects by stopping, advancing, or reversing their movement. These powers apply to falling objects, blades, platforms, pistons, lasers, turbines, and other mechanisms. The facility contains dozens of puzzle rooms organized into levels, with each level increasing the difficulty. Solving every room advances the escape attempt, while a ticking clock creates time pressure. Each level also supports attempts to achieve the fastest possible completion time. The game combines exploration, object manipulation, platforming, and timed puzzle solving within a facility-escape structure.
How Chrono plays
- 01Temporal object control
- The ChronoGun can stop, accelerate, or reverse the movement of objects in the environment.
- 02First-person puzzles
- Rooms are played from a first-person viewpoint in a single-player format.
- 03Progressive level structure
- Puzzle rooms are arranged into levels that increase in difficulty.
- 04Fastest-time attempts
- Each level can be replayed with the aim of setting a faster completion time.
