Our take on Chime
The defining structure is the link between puzzle progress and music: placing pieces changes the loop, individual placements play notes, and completed quads trigger samples. The board can then be cleared after reaching full coverage for another high-score attempt.
What is Chime?
Chime is a timed puzzle game built around placing and rotating shapes on a grid.
Players form solid quads, cover the playing surface, and reset the board after reaching 100% to continue pursuing a high score. Filling spaces changes the music loop, while piece placement plays notes and completed quads activate song samples. The six levels each use distinct music, grids, and shape sets, including a sixth stage inspired by Portal. Free-play mode offers three difficulty settings and a no-time-pressure option focused on making music. The soundtrack includes work by Moby, Paul Hartnoll of Orbital, and other musicians.
