Our take on Cardpocalypse
Players who prefer to revise every deck decision may bounce off the permanent card, rule, and upgrade changes. The same friction returns in Gauntlet Mode, where each run requires drafting around a chosen Champion through increasingly difficult battles.
What is Cardpocalypse?
Cardpocalypse is a single-player RPG set at Dudsdale Elementary, where 10-year-old Jess and her classmates continue playing a collectible card game after it is banned.
Players explore the school, complete quests, and collect cards, stickers, and candy to trade with classmates. Battles use Champion cards with unique abilities; a Champion evolves into a Mega form at half health, gaining more attack damage and new powers. Players can trade, earn, wager, change rules, rename cards, apply sticker upgrades, and create new cards with the Mega Mutant Power Magazine. Some choices are permanent. Gauntlet Mode adds roguelike runs with increasingly difficult battles and post-win drafts of cards, rules, and rewards.
