Our take on Card Quest
The focus on card choices, class builds, and tactical encounters leaves less room for systems outside combat customization. Variety comes from changing specializations and equipment rather than from a broader set of gameplay activities.
What is Card Quest?
Card Quest is a dungeon-crawling RPG centered on card combat and tactical roguelike gameplay.
Choose a Rogue, Wizard, Fighter, or Hunter, then select from three specializations for each class. Equipment and items add cards and abilities, while leveling increases stamina and health, grants passive abilities, and unlocks specializations. The game includes a city affected by an undead plague and a dangerous dwarven mountain, with each setting offering more than 12 areas to explore. Combat features over 25 bosses and more than 90 other enemies, including foes with unique skills that require different tactics. Defeating bosses unlocks additional equipment for further hero customization.

Card Quest compared to similar games
Card Quest combines dungeon exploration, four character classes, equipment-based card customization, and progression through health, stamina, passives, and specializations. Shogun Showdown also uses deck building and roguelike progression, but centers on positioning, attack tiles, combos, and confronting the Shogun rather than multiple classes, dungeon settings, and a large roster of bosses and enemies.
