Our take on Card Dungeon
The game gives up run security in exchange for a higher-risk structure: death can erase progress and loot, while cards also wear out and need replacement. Its turn-based format supports planning, but repeated attempts remain part of recovering from failure.
What is Card Dungeon?
Card Dungeon is a turn-based roguelike presented as a digital board game.
Play as the Crusader and explore randomly created dungeons while fighting 40+ enemies, each with unique skill cards. Use skill cards to attack, interact with the world, disable traps, and more. Collect trait cards, weapons, armor, and magical items, then combine them with the Crusader’s abilities to shape each play-through. Cards deteriorate through use and need replacement. Character traits change the Crusader’s innate skills, with combinations including increased strength, illusion abilities, melee attacks, teleportation, and fire. Permanent death ends a run, though reaching the previous death point can recover lost gold and items. Levels and treasures change between runs, while enemies are hand placed.

Card Dungeon compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown also combines turn-based roguelike play with deck-building, but centers on positioning, attack-tile upgrades, combos, and preparing a deck before facing the Shogun. Card Dungeon instead combines skill, trait, equipment, and item cards with changing dungeons, hand-placed enemies, and recoverable loot after death.
