Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a fast-moving adventure may find the investigation and puzzle-solving structure too deliberate.
- Players who prefer clearly explained stories from the outset may hit a wall with the protagonist’s missing memories and the station’s mystery.
- Players without interest in psychological horror may not want the game’s horror elements.
Our take on Caffeine
The bounce point comes at the opening mystery: the protagonist wakes without memories on an apparently empty station, so progress depends on exploring the structure and interpreting its situation. Players who need immediate context or a clearly defined objective may stop there.
What is Caffeine?
Caffeine is a first-person adventure on a space station in the near future, where corporations extract materials for making synthetic caffeine.
The player wakes up alone in the role of a boy who cannot recall the events preceding his arrival. Investigating the station’s expansive interior involves environmental puzzles and gradually uncovers the circumstances behind its apparent emptiness. Earth’s population relies heavily on coffee, while corporate facilities operate throughout space. The game supports DirectX 12, ray-traced distance-field shadows, dynamic lighting, and graphics options from low through ultra. Its audio includes sound effects by Jonathan Wachoru and a score by Adam Klingman of Bay Drive Sound. Oculus Rift is also supported.
