Is Bring to Light worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Horror adventure fans who want a subway escape story with lurking creatures
- Puzzle players who want challenges built around changing uses of light
- VR players who prefer seated or standing exploration in an underground setting
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a broad range of environments may find the setting limited to deep, winding subway tunnels.
- Players who want a fixed pace of scares may not suit events that can change with heart-rate data.
- Players uninterested in mystery-driven escape scenarios may find the disaster and Avatar of Darkness narrative too central.
Our take on Bring to Light
The game gives up a fixed rhythm of scares in favor of reactive intensity. Heart-rate data can alter events in real time, making the experience less predictable and tying part of its pacing to biometric input or shared data from other players.
What is Bring to Light?
After a subway train crash, a lone survivor searches deep, winding tunnels for a way out.
Exploration gradually reveals more about the disaster, the Avatar of Darkness, and its Shadowspawn creatures, which follow the survivor through the underground system. Progress involves puzzles that use light in different ways. Bring to Light supports virtual reality on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, with seated or standing play, as well as non-VR play on a monitor using a mouse and keyboard or gamepad. With a supported heart-rate device, biometric data can alter events and adjust scare intensity in real time. Players without such a device can still experience events influenced by heart-rate data from other players.
How Bring to Light plays

- Advancement through the tunnels includes challenges that use illumination in different ways.
