Our take on Branches
Players looking for a relaxed runner may bounce off when the pace accelerates and the trunk’s turning direction changes. A mistimed rotation can push the character off the trunk, while waiting too long causes a fall, making timing the main point of failure.
What is Branches?
Branches is an arcade scoring runner set on an endless tree trunk.
Branches appear across the route and obstruct the character’s path. Clicking the left mouse button turns the trunk, allowing the character to continue along a clearer section. Rotation must be timed carefully: branches can force the character off the trunk, while lingering too long can cause a fall from the level. The game gradually becomes faster, and the direction in which the trunk must turn can change. Coins collected during runs can be spent on a character skin.
How Branches plays
- 01Endless trunk route
- The character travels forward along a trunk without a stated endpoint.
- 02Timed trunk rotation
- Left-clicking changes the trunk’s orientation so the path can be cleared.
- 03Increasing pace
- The game speeds up during a run, and the required turning direction can switch.
- 04Coin skin purchases
- Collected coins can be exchanged for a skin for the character.
Branches compared to similar games
Branches centers on rotating an endless trunk to avoid obstacles while collecting coins for a character skin. SUPER CHICKEN JUMPER is also a runner, but adds jumping, shooting, destruction, and combat to its forward movement.
