Our take on Braise
Braise trades breadth for a compact narrative journey. Its approximately 1h30 to 2-hour runtime leaves less room for extensive exploration or progression, keeping attention on the central mystery, local quests, puzzles, and fishing.
What is Braise?
Braise is a narrative adventure set in a fantasy world where humans and dragons live in an unstable peace.
The player investigates the disappearance of a famous champion who is also the protagonist’s grandmother, while a dragon’s madness unsettles the valley and a cult operates in the background. Exploration includes a river, temple, and dungeon, with objects to find and quests from local inhabitants. Puzzles involve combining items, studying environmental clues, and using logic. Fishing provides another activity, with bait, fishing locations, and different fish varieties to discover. The game lasts approximately 1h30 to 2 hours and uses hand-drawn pixel art created without AI. It was made by one person as a first video game project over one year.
