Play it if you…
Good fit- Puzzle fans who enjoy push-only movement and planning several moves ahead
- Players seeking a story-led mystery set in a robot-run asteroid station
- Sokoban players who want environmental hazards and unlimited move reversal
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat-focused gameplay, since progression centers on moving cargo rather than fighting
- Players who prefer unrestricted movement, since containers can be pushed but not pulled and mistakes may block routes
- Players looking for a broad open-world adventure, since the structure is based on individual puzzles across three biomes
Our take on Bot Patrol
The push-only rule gives the puzzles their structure, but it also limits how objects can be manipulated. A misplaced container can obstruct a route or target, so the game trades freeform movement for deliberate planning, with infinite Undo reducing the cost of experimentation.
What is Bot Patrol?
Bot Patrol is a puzzle adventure set on an asteroid station where a robot investigates the disappearance of colleague bots.
Each level follows a Sokoban-style structure: push cargo containers onto target locations, without pulling them back. Conveyor belts, cranes, energy barriers, button triggers, and hostile control bots add further obstacles. Contact with the control bots can destroy the player, while misplaced pushes can block access to containers or targets. The game spans three biomes and uses an infinite Undo function, allowing earlier moves to be reversed. Its story centers on routine-bound station life, a disruption in that routine, and a search for freedom.
How Bot Patrol plays
- 01Push-based puzzles
- Cargo containers must be moved onto designated targets, with each push affecting later access and positioning.
- 02Environmental obstacles
- Conveyors, cranes, energy barriers, and button mechanisms complicate routes through the levels.
- 03Hostile control bots
- Contact with the station's control bots can end the player's current attempt.
- 04Infinite move reversal
- An unlimited Undo function can reverse a move or a longer sequence of previous actions.
- 05Three biomes
- The puzzle adventure is divided across three distinct biome settings.
