Our take on BoomBox
Rather than keeping rhythm play focused on hand movements alone, BoomBox uses circular note placements and wall shapes that call for reaching and squatting. Community maps, multiplayer, and a pettable cat also sit alongside its drumming structure.
What is BoomBox?
BoomBox is a VR rhythm game built around drumming, with note patterns arranged to prompt arm and core movement, including squats and reaches.
It includes 33 core songs and lets players download community-made maps through the in-game menu; the community can map more than 600 DMCA-free songs. Multiplayer, leaderboards, achievements, skins, and other customization options add social and progression features. Players can choose from 20 environments and interact with Pupa, a virtual cat. A level editor is available for download from the game's website. The combination centers on rhythm play and physical movement, with community content and customization alongside the drumming.
