We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players seeking a short RPG campaign with a defined story
- Turn-based RPG fans who want choices to affect character development
- Players interested in exploring multiple endings through repeat runs
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a long RPG campaign may find the 3-to-4-hour structure too brief
- Players wanting a less restrictive item system may dislike the emphasis on limited item use and timed crafting
- Players looking for an open-ended RPG may not suit the linear six-act format
Our take on Bleeding Sun
Its RPG structure pairs a short, linear six-act story with choice-driven progression and six endings. New Game+ removes most battles, replacing repeated combat with a faster route through alternate decisions and conclusions.
What is Bleeding Sun?
Bleeding Sun follows Yori Takenaka, who returns home after 15 years to confront his father’s killer, Ichiro.
The linear campaign lasts 3 to 4 hours and is divided into 6 acts. Battles use a turn-based system: attacks are selected first and then carried out in sequence. Four characters have distinct playstyles, characteristics, and combat limitations. Choices affect character abilities and attributes, with 6 possible endings reflecting decisions made during the game. Yori must improve his fighting skills, rebuild the Takenaka House, and ally with people who once supported his father. Items require careful management, and crafting takes time. New Game+ removes most battles, providing a faster way to explore different choices and endings.
