Our take on Billy's Nightmare
The game replaces familiar fantasy or military equipment with objects drawn from a child's world, such as socks, toys, and plastic bricks. It also pairs the roguelike structure with outfit-specific mounts and pets, making traversal and companions part of the genre's combat loop.
What is Billy's Nightmare?
Billy's Nightmare is a roguelike action game about fighting nightmare creatures with abilities and items built around child logic.
Stinky Socks can poison bullies, a Magnifying Glass can ignite creepy toys, and Pego Bricks can make enemies suffer. Abilities use cooldowns rather than ammunition. Unlockable outfits provide different playstyles, each with a primary and secondary ability; examples include a Pirate with a flintlock pistol and cutlass, and a Magician who attacks from a distance with deadly bunnies. Each outfit also has a mount for faster travel when no nightmare creatures are nearby. A Pet Shop lets Billy adopt combat companions such as fire-breathing dragons, snowball-throwing yetis, and barking dogs.
