The game replaces a purely solitary castaway setup with a cooperative survival structure. It begins with one stranded survivor, then allows fellow castaways to join the shared effort, while the route home includes both island travel and underwater exploration.
What is Away From Life?
After surviving a helicopter crash, the player is stranded on remote islands and must work toward returning home.
Survival involves hunting for food, gathering resources and materials, building shelter, and crafting essential tools. The islands and surrounding waters contain mysteries to uncover, with exploration taking place both on land and underwater. Dangers are present across the islands and waters, so the player must find something to fend them off and build a roof over their head. The game begins with the player alone, but fellow castaways can join the effort and contribute to the shared attempt to go home.
