Our take on Automation Empire
Rather than centering on armies, diplomacy, or individual characters, this strategy simulation treats transport infrastructure as the main structure of play. Expansion depends on arranging interconnected production and delivery systems across terrain, with complexity emerging from logistics instead of battles or political events.
What is Automation Empire?
Automation Empire is a simulation and management game focused on building industrial networks from an empty starting point.
Players extract gold, iron, coal, and other ores, then process them into higher-value products through factory production lines. Transportation uses mine carts, delivery drones, trucks, trains, and cargo rockets to move resources between facilities. Early systems can use simple point-to-point delivery, while later layouts connect multiple tracks into larger networks that distribute materials across the operation. Research provides access to additional automated machines and infrastructure. Seven planets with different biomes, geological formations, and rough terrain affect the placement and expansion of each industrial base.
How Automation Empire plays
- 01Multi-modal transport
- Resources can move through mine carts, drones, trucks, trains, and cargo rockets.
- 02Factory processing
- Extracted gold, iron, and coal can be refined into more valuable products through production lines.
- 03Technology research
- Research unlocks additional automated machines and infrastructure for expanding production.
- 04Seven planetary settings
- Each planet presents different biomes, landforms, and terrain conditions for industrial layouts.
