Is Astronium worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Action-adventure players who want combat to require responses to enemy attacks
- Players who enjoy collecting weapons with different movesets and powers
- Metroidvania fans who want biome exploration combined with boss battles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a low-pressure adventure may hit a wall when enemies counterattack and ambushes interrupt exploration.
- Players who prefer a compact, fixed loadout may tire of repeated weapon drops and equipment hunting.
- Players looking for stealth, crafting, or tower-defense systems may find the combat-and-exploration scope too narrow.
Our take on Astronium
The bounce point arrives when attacking alone stops working. Players must respond to enemy behavior while managing ambushes, weapon drops, and boss encounters across the four biomes, so those seeking a relaxed exploration loop may leave at the combat system.
What is Astronium?
Astronium is a metroidvania with souls-like elements centered on combat, exploration, and weapon collection.
Players travel across 4 biomes on a hostile planet, facing intelligent enemies, ambushes, and biome rulers in boss battles. Enemies can drop unique weapons, including rare versions with special abilities. The world includes quests, encounters, NPCs, and sellers, while different threats include goblin ambushes, snow monsters, and marine creatures. More than 40 weapons have distinct movesets and powers. Combat requires more than repeated attacks, since enemies respond to incoming strikes. Progress involves exploring the planet, meeting its inhabitants, gathering equipment, and confronting each biome's ruler while attempting to leave.
How Astronium plays
