Our take on Astrocat: Milky Way Journey
Its defining mechanic is open-ended photo assembly: every piece must appear in the completed image, while the planetary subjects do not have to follow their original sequence.
What is Astrocat: Milky Way Journey?
Astrocat: Milky Way Journey is a 2D puzzle game about Skylar, an astronaut cat collecting photographs of planets and unusual objects from the Milky Way.
The photographs must be assembled on a tablet so they can be sent to scientists on Skylar’s planet. Each of the 50 levels requires every available piece to be used, but the pieces can be arranged in any order rather than following the sequence in which the objects appeared. The game provides information and curiosities about the pictured objects. It uses hand-drawn artwork, original relaxing music, and mouse-only controls, with no keyboard or joystick required.
