Our take on ARISEN - Chronicles of Var'Nagal
Rather than using combat, leveling, or dungeon progression as its main structure, this RPG-tagged adventure puts tarot-based emotions at the center of decision-making. Character relationships and ethical choices replace the usual focus on battles and equipment as the primary drivers of progression.
What is ARISEN - Chronicles of Var'Nagal?
ARISEN is a narrative card game set in the dark-fantasy world of Var'Nagal.
After being enslaved on the island of Maccialatt, the protagonist pursues freedom through choices represented by tarot cards and five emotions: Fear, Sorrow, Disgust, Anger, and Joy. Decisions affect the surrounding world and open different story routes. The game contains 360,000 words, several paths, and multiple plot twists. Six main characters can develop as lovers, friends, neutral contacts, enemies, or nemeses, with individual quests and developments.
