Our take on AREAZ
The survival premise receives most of the attention, but the current journey is limited to a beach, jungle, and mangrove swamp. Mainland, forest, and mountain regions appear as future expansion plans, so the available world is narrower than the longer-term scope presented.
What is AREAZ?
AREAZ is a survival simulation built around observation, resource management, and practical techniques.
The journey starts on a beach and in a jungle, then moves toward a dangerous mangrove swamp. Time, tides, rain, weather, wetness, exhaustion, calories, fire, water, and animal behavior affect each decision. Players search areas, read environmental clues, gather materials, and craft with stones, sticks, bamboo, and fire. A two-hand crafting system makes tool use deliberate, while tools can wear out and break.
Food supports survival but may attract predators, and changing water levels can make previously safe camp locations dangerous. Knowledge gained through actions forms the progression system. Poor preparation can lead to hunger or death, and some errors cannot be reversed. The free demo covers the complete first area.
How AREAZ plays

- 02Two-hand crafting
- Materials such as stones, sticks, bamboo, and fire are handled through a deliberate crafting process.
- 03Breakable tools
- Tools wear out with use and can eventually break.

- Progress comes from learning through actions rather than from a separate progression system.
- 05Beach to swamp journey
- The journey starts on a beach and in a jungle before reaching a mangrove swamp.
- 06Complete first-area demo
- The free demo contains the entire first area without locks or timers.
AREAZ compared to similar games
AREAZ focuses on environmental survival across beach, jungle, and mangrove terrain, with tides, weather, calories, animal behavior, and hands-on crafting shaping play. Mr. Prepper centers on preparing for nuclear war by building an underground shelter, crafting, and dealing with an authoritarian government. The two games share survival crafting, but their settings and core workflows differ.
