What is All Ashes and Illusions?
This dark visual novel follows Yuel, a prince who loses his mother as a child and grows up under his father’s warning not to trust women.
His nursemaid, Safiya, becomes his sole source of comfort, but leaves when he is old enough to no longer need her care. After his father dies and Yuel becomes king, he sets out to win Safiya back, unable to imagine a life without her. The story is kinetic, with no choices or branching paths, and contains about 90,000 words, or approximately 4–6 hours of reading.
