Our take on ALAN-13 Reformation
The game teaches programming concepts through robot configuration rather than code, so players looking for hands-on coding practice will find that part absent. Its puzzle structure also centers on preparing one autonomous unit for missions, not on directing a larger team.
What is ALAN-13 Reformation?
ALAN-13 Reformation is an isometric puzzle game about wiring an autonomous robot to solve challenges.
Players assemble its microcontroller using GENESIS components and equip the robot with peripherals suited to each mission. The puzzles introduce logical thinking and fundamental programming tools without requiring players to write code. The story is set on Venus, where solar flares have damaged surface electrical infrastructure and disrupted communication. As the engineer on location, the player configures ALAN-13 to operate autonomously and restore that infrastructure. The game is officially supported on Windows; the vendor says it reportedly works with Proton when a compatibility option is enabled in the in-game menu.
