Our take on Alaca
Rather than offering a fixed campaign route, the game resets the hero after death and reshapes the map for each attempt. Progress comes from adapting builds and tactics while racing a force that weakens the character and strengthens enemies over time.
What is Alaca?
Alaca is a top-down action roguelike built around repeated expeditions.
Each run generates a different map, and there are no save points. The goal is to locate and destroy the source of a spreading dark power before it weakens the character completely. Weapons, elements, equipment, abilities, and character statistics can be combined into different builds. Enemies vary by level and element, with effects including burning, freezing, warping, and poisoning. Mini-bosses and elite enemies offer stronger equipment and abilities, while the growing power strengthens enemies as time passes. After death, the amnesiac hero begins the same day again, with the investigation into the lost memory and mysterious force continuing through repeated attempts.
How Alaca plays
- 01Changing Run Maps
- The map is randomly altered whenever a new game begins, requiring different tactics between attempts.
- 02Build Combinations
- Weapons and elemental abilities can be combined to create different character setups and stat developments.
- 03Elemental Enemies
- Creatures are associated with different elements and can inflict burning, freezing, warping, or poisoning.
- 04Escalating Threat
- The mysterious power becomes stronger over time, weakening the character while increasing enemy strength.
- 05Elite Hunts
- Mini-bosses and elite enemies can be pursued for stronger equipment and abilities.
