Our take on Aeon of Sands - The Trail
This RPG replaces a fixed campaign structure with illustrated, multiple-choice decisions that alter locations, relationships, and endings. It also combines real-time movement and combat with grid-based tactics, while tying character statistics to gear and skills instead of conventional levels.
What is Aeon of Sands - The Trail?
Set in a desert devastated by catastrophe, Aeon of Sands – The Trail follows Setrani, an awkward clerk searching for a vanished supply caravan near the Kinami tree and Pantella.
Players move through a hand-drawn 2. 5D environment in real time, uncovering hidden areas, operating mechanisms, collecting loot, and meeting creatures and potential allies or foes. Illustrated choices in conversation affect accessible regions, companions, and narrative branches. Battles use real-time action alongside grid-oriented tactics. Progression comes from selected equipment and developed abilities rather than character levels or experience points. Different routes and destinations lead to three possible conclusions.
