Our take on AdventureBarStory
Rather than treating combat as the main source of experience, this RPG ties progression to eating prepared dishes. Its central loop also places bar sales and cooking contests alongside dungeon exploration, replacing a standard battle-and-level structure with culinary management.
What is AdventureBarStory?
AdventureBarStory combines bar management with role-playing, exploration, cooking, and monster battles.
The bar's rank rises through results in Royal cooking contests and accumulated sales, advancing the story and opening access to new cities and dungeons. Players gather ingredients in dungeons, obtain materials from battles and other activities, and prepare more than 400 recipes. Food grants experience instead of combat, while dishes can provide temporary stat increases or resistance to ailments. Battles include attempts to cause Overkill for additional materials, while weakened monsters may enter a Berserk state. The party can explore more than 10 dungeons, each containing area-specific materials and monsters.
