We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Puzzle players who enjoy constructing vehicles to overcome environmental obstacles
- Simulation fans interested in physics-based movement across varied terrain
- Players who prefer exploration through a story-driven post-apocalyptic setting
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking direct combat or action-focused gameplay may find the vehicle puzzles too central
- Players wanting short, simple puzzles may find the varied terrain and vehicle-building requirements demanding
- Players looking for a conventional strategy or role-playing game may not find the expected empire or character-management systems
Our take on ADAPTR
The vehicle-building focus trades immediate action for experimentation: progress depends on designing and adjusting machines for different terrain. That creates a narrower experience for players who want direct control or rapid movement rather than solving obstacles through construction.
What is ADAPTR?
ADAPTR is a puzzle game about building vehicles from modular physics components and using them to travel through a ruined future Earth.
The journey begins in low-gravity testing areas aboard an orbital space station, continues across damaged buildings and cityscapes, and reaches ancient research laboratories below the surface. Vehicle designs must handle different terrain and environmental conditions while solving obstacles along the route. The story involves locating missing robots, investigating secret areas, finding a cure, and uncovering information about a lost civilisation. The game offers more than 25 physics components for vehicle construction, with progress structured around moving from orbit to the planet and then into the labs.
