Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking deep economic management may hit the wall at the planning table, where the farm's expansion options are presented simply.
- Players wanting varied action or combat may bounce off the repeated cycle of planting, animal care, harvesting, and orders.
- Users without interest in VR interaction may not suit the game's hands-on control model.
- Players looking for a large multiplayer farming experience may find the individual farm scope limiting.
Our take on Across the Valley
The bounce point arrives when farming shifts from a conventional management interface to physical VR actions. Players must grab, carry, throw, dig, milk, shear, and perform other tasks at fixed stations, so anyone expecting mostly menus or keyboard commands may stop there.
What is Across the Valley?
Across the Valley is a VR farm simulator focused on physical interaction rather than menu-based controls.
Players plant, water, and harvest crops, raise young animals, milk cows, shear sheep, and search for truffles with pigs. Farming activities trigger short interactive sequences during actions such as sowing seeds. A set of 36 tasks introduces activities from planting through pig-led truffle hunting, while continuing orders provide additional work afterward. Profits can be spent on farm expansion, and the planning table shows the available development options. Movement uses fixed action points reached by blinking between locations. The game presents a hand-drawn visual style, atmospheric music, daily farm activities, and house upgrades within a VR countryside setting.
