Is Abyss Manager worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want to manage a dungeon rather than lead a conventional kingdom or army
- Simulation fans interested in assigning varied characters to training, expeditions, and facility work
- Players who enjoy choosing between inexpensive mobs and costly elite minions
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking direct control over every battle may find the autonomous combat system limiting
- Players wanting a fixed roster may not enjoy managing randomly generated characters with varied traits, skills, and races
- Players looking for a conventional hero-led adventure may find the manager role and facility workflow too administrative
Our take on Abyss Manager
Rather than casting the player as an adventurer entering a dungeon, the game places them in charge of the dungeon itself. Recruitment, training, facility operation, and payroll surround the battles, reversing the usual adventure-game viewpoint.
What is Abyss Manager?
Abyss Manager is a dungeon management simulation in which a new manager develops a neglected dungeon.
Starting with limited resources, the manager recruits minions, accumulates money, constructs facilities, develops technology, explores the realm, and enters Dungeon League matches. The game includes more than 350 traits, over 300 skills, and 60 races, creating varied randomly generated characters. Minions can be rotated and trained, sent on expeditions, or assigned to operate facilities. Battles can proceed according to minion personalities and tactics, or receive direct management at the cost of actions. Minions do not die in battle, but unpaid minions leave, creating a choice between inexpensive mobs and costly elites.
