Our take on A Whisper in the Twilight: Chapter One
Players who expect a complete story in one installment may hit the main sticking point: this is released episodically. The stated adventure also centers on puzzles, clue gathering, and evading threats, so players looking primarily for direct combat may find that emphasis a poor fit.
What is A Whisper in the Twilight: Chapter One?
Set on the colonized moon of Hippalectryon, the story follows Zory, one of the last members of the Skywatchers, as she seeks to rescue her sister and overthrow a dictator.
The moon has been devastated by war and occupied across large areas by the Zharatians, a violent cult. This single-player, episodic adventure combines environmental storytelling and lore with puzzle-solving, clue gathering, and evasion of lethal threats. Players encounter alien plants and animals, ancient artifacts, and a mix of archaic and futuristic technology. Zory can travel through parallel dimensions and transfer her spirit into alien creatures. The game is based on M. R. Magni’s book “The War of the Cults. ”
